ZephyrEye Game Types
|
The ZephyrEye is a small electronic device designed to be attached to a paintball marker. Not only can it provide useful information about you and other players on the field, it can implement games. With a minimal amount of user input, you'll be left feeling like you just got done playing the real life version of James Bond, Halo, or BattleFront! Tentatively, the first rollout will have the following games:
- Capture the Flag: The ultimate of paintballing games, now with a twist. Add time limits, team kill limits, or flag capture limits to the classic CTF. Also includes the option to use a virtual flag, so you'll never be forced to use your favorite trucker hat again.
- King of the Hill: Be prepared to hold the fort for as long as you can! A time limited game that requires tactical superiority. While setting up the game, the coordinates of a "fort" (real or virtual) is entered. Home base coordinates are selected by the team captains. If a player gets hit, it's back to base for a time-out before he can return to the action. The ZephyrEye unit keeps track of the time each team has control of the fort for, and when the clock ticks down, it's all over for the team that couldn't keep it.
- Team Slayer: Raw and unchecked brutality. The rules are simple: Kill as many opponents as you can before the clock runs out. When a player is hit, he must go to a checkpoint before readmittance to the melee.
- Tick Tactics: Not only the brave, but the smart survive. Your team starts with a certain score, which is reduced by both player kills and by losing control of command posts. Prepare your team mentally to capture and control a user-selectable number of command posts spread throughout the playing area in positions selected by team captains. Got painted? Get re-admitted by the ZephyrEye after returning to a controlled command point for a time-out. But team mates had better keep it under control or you're still out!
- Elimition: The original paintball game. Hold up the team or go out in a blaze of glory. The ZephyrEye adds a new dimension to the game by displaying the number of live players, player locations on the map, and the number of remaining rounds in your hopper. Be able to make the best decisions based on remaining players and ammo!
Unlike video games, that's not the end. In fact, it never ends. New game types and variants of existing game types will be periodically released through our website. Player requests from emails, forums, and tournament feedback will all play into upgrades and software improvements as well.
With a unique wireless USB device, these games and software updates downloaded from the website can be sent to the ZephyrEye unit. Not only that, but software is available that will allow spectators (or players who have become spectators themselves) to view even more information than that available to the players through the ZephyrEye. From your laptop PC, view the positions and data on each player, including ammo count, orientation, speed, death count, fort capture count, and the field with optional overlay of bunkers, cover, and other geographic features.
Making paintball a whole new game for both players and spectators.
